Kat Bell

Kat Bell received her Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition with minors in 19th and 20th century American, and her B.A. in English and B.S. in Education from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She received her M.A. in English from Middlebury College in Vermont. Before joining UCSD’s Analytical Writing Program, Kat taught high school in Chicago and Kentucky and ran a writing center in Colorado. Her research interests include writing center transfer, self-efficacy in writerly habits, and the intersections of race and class in 20th century literature.
