Jennifer Falcón

Jennifer Falcón earned her Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition and her M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and her B.A. in English from The Ohio State University. Before joining UCSD’s Analytical Writing Program, she taught Rhetoric and Composition I and II, Workplace Writing, and Technical Communication in the Rhetoric and Writing Studies (RWS) undergraduate program at UTEP. As a graduate student, she served as the assistant director of the First-Year Compositing (FYC) program and the RWS graduate program. Her research focuses on digital literacy, specifically how theories and practices in digital rhetoric, electracy, and procedural rhetoric when applied can enhance multimodal composition assignments and composition practices in first-year writing curriculum. Dr. Falcón has taught writing to students in UCSD’s Summer Bridge Program for many years and has served as a Summer Bridge faculty director since 2023. She is currently serving as AWP’s Writing Success Coordinator.
