Jerrod Heiser received his M.A. in Applied Linguistics and TESOL from San Diego State University, and his B.A. in Literature from UC Santa Barbara. Before joining UCSD's Analytical Writing Program, he has taught Composition at San Diego State University and Cuyamaca College, and he taught English as a Second Language in a variety of language programs in San Diego, China, and Peru. He currently also teaches in the Linguistics department at SDSU and serves on SDSU’s Writing Proficiency Assessment Committee. His research interests include genre studies, pedagogy, and rhetoric.
